Physical Benefits
Essential Daily Exercise

Burning off all that extra energy means burning more calories, which leads to stronger, more defined muscles and less pudge around the belly. It can take more time and work to get a chubby or sedentary cat trained to the wheel, but once you do, you’ll start to see them slim down into their more svelte selves.

Mental Benefits
Alleviate Stress and Boredom

Tired of late-night zoomies and scratched furniture? The Cat Exercise Wheel reduces stress and anxiety levels, leading to less destructive and unwanted behaviors. Over ten years of field testing has shown it enhances their well-being and can even alter their disposition to make them more relaxed and calm throughout the day.

Safe for Large Cats
Plenty of Room to Run

Bigger is better and safer! The Cat Exercise Wheel features a 48” diameter, giving your cat plenty of room to run regardless of their size. Unlike copycat wheels, there’s more than enough space for your cat to stretch out mid-stride—no cramping or forced curving of the spine. Your cat can hit their full speed in comfort on this giant wheel!

Replaceable Traction Pads
Premium Running Track

The wheel is lined with pads of formamide-free EVA foam, the same material used to cushion the soles of shoes. These pads provide extra traction for your cat and soften the impact of their paws against the wheel. Most importantly, they’re engineered to tear—unlike sisal or carpet liners, the foam will never trap your cat’s claws while the wheel is in motion, so you never have to worry about injury.

The traction pads are fully replaceable and can be easily swapped for new ones when they start to wear down.

Lightweight Design
Quick & Easy Assembly

Putting the wheel together is a breeze with One Fast Cat’s unique design. No special tools required—parts snap together by hand, and the wheel can be assembled in a matter of minutes. The minimalist design means few parts to fuss with, ensuring a streamlined and stress-free experience for you and your cat.

Even fully assembled, the wheel is lightweight and easy to move. Got company coming over? Just pick the wheel up by the ring and shift it over to the next room, no sweat.

Simple Cleanup
Hassle-Free Maintenance

Got a cat that likes to mark its territory? Not a problem—just take the wheel outside and hose it down! Fur, dirt, and urine wash right off the plastic, and unlike carpet, the EVA foam doesn’t soak up fluids or odors. It’s also easy to maintain by simply passing a damp cloth over it from time to time to keep fur from accumulating.

Local & Sustainable
Made in California

At One Fast Cat, we are committed to designing innovative, environmentally friendly products that not only benefit our community but also the environment as a whole.

The Cat Exercise Wheel uses recyclable ABS plastic to mold the wheels, allowing us to melt down any defective, miscast, or returned pieces and give them a second life as new parts. That means less waste in a landfill and less consumption of new materials for better sustainability and a reduced environmental impact.

Frequently Asked Questions

Any breed of cat can take to the wheel! Active breeds like bengals, sphynxes, and savannahs will often take to it the fastest, but we’ve seen plenty of other cats use it too, from Munchkins to Ragdolls to mixed breed cats and rescues. It isn’t so much about the breed as it is the energy level of your cat and the amount of training you put in.

There are two factors to keep in mind when considering the wheel for your cat:

  1. Energy level: Cats that like to run through the house, climb every surface they can reach, and are constantly looking for ways to play and entertain themselves are considered mid- to high-energy and will take to the wheel most easily. Cats that prefer to sleep most of the day may take longer to train or may not be inclined to use the wheel on their own.
  2. Trainability: Curious, playful cats that can be encouraged to do simple tasks (such as jumping on a chair for a treat or with a toy) will be easy to train to the wheel. If your cat has no interest in this kind of play, it may be very hard to get them interested in the wheel.

Every cat is unique, and training time will vary depending on their energy level, interest, responsiveness, and the consistency of the training. On average, training typically takes 2-3 weeks for cats that have no prior experience with a wheel. Stubborn or low energy cats are likely to take longer. For the best chance of success, make sure you can commit to training your cat for about 5-10 minutes each day for at least a few weeks before purchasing the wheel.

The wheel is designed to hold up to 22 lbs, so it can accommodate most big cats. Exceeding this weight limit is likely to cause faster wear on parts and may compromise the base’s integrity. This item is not intended for use by larger pets or by children.

Heavier-set cats can definitely use the wheel as long as they are under the weight limit. It may take a little more effort to get them using the wheel, especially if they have a lower energy level than most cats. The key is in the training and making sure that the reward they are receiving is worth the effort until they start to realize how much they can enjoy the wheel without an incentive. Patience and consistency with your training routine are a must!

Once your cat starts using the wheel regularly you’re likely to see some weight loss, but this can be offset somewhat by muscle gain. Even if your cat’s total weight doesn’t drop dramatically, they'll become visibly leaner and more fit as they burn off excess fat.

The cat wheel can be cleaned by taking it outside and spraying it with a hose or wiping it down with a wet towel. Foam traction pads will wear down over time and can be replaced simply by peeling off the old ones and sticking on new ones.

Yes, the foam traction pads are meant to be replaced periodically. They function like big stickers, so all you need to do is find the seam between two pads, grab the edge, and peel it up and off. If the pad doesn’t want to come off easily, warming it up first with a hairdryer will help loosen the grip of the adhesive so that you can get it off.

    Cats freaking love it

We have several cats. They all love it. Some learned quicker than others but they're all getting it! I can't belive we didn't do this sooner. I feel like I hindered my kitties lives! They have so much more freedom now and are losing weight and generally happier. We live in a smaller space with several animals so this is a lifesaver. Only thing I wish was it came with directions on how tight to tighten the wheels for optimum performance as well as maybe some small leveling pads for unevenness in the floor. If it's not level the wheel slides a little bit and the edge rubs against the wheel cover causing some frictional noise. But love this product to the moon and back!

    Kitty loves it!

When I rescued a sphynx cat, I had no idea just how energetic he would be. He’s such a sweet boy who’s always following me around and needs lots of daily bonding time. I got him a cat exercise wheel of another brand, which he loved. But whenever his speed got too fast, he would bonk his nose against the side of it. This massive exercise wheel has been a game changer! He can sprint as fast as he wants without compromising comfort. He uses it every day. Some initial motivation with treats sealed the deal. Now, he runs just for the fun and praise-based validation. These days he spends less time bothering his furry brothers and more time napping. His energy is well spent! Setup was a bit tricky and I had to oil the wheels a bit, but it was well worth it. Phinks and I both approve.

    Consider Your Cat's Athleticism

Reviewing after 2yrs of use! - If your cat is a runner, they'll probably love it. If your cat is a lazy potato, don't blame the cat wheel if they never touch it. Simply buying a treadmill won't magically change your habits if you hate running. Same for cats and the OFC wheel. Both my ~10yr old cats are obsessed with it. But they are already active runners - that's why I got it.

Setup & Looks - Assembly took me all of 15min, from unboxing to first wheel-spin. I appreciated their thoughtful, efficient packaging too. Aestetically, it's not the best. I really wish the back was covered, instead of the exposed molded plastic - that's really my biggest gripe about the wheel.

Stability - My 15lb cat grabs both sides of the wheel to try and run as fast as he can and, surprisingly, he's never knocked it off the base. It's more stable than it looks. That said, because he's larger, I do have two 2lb hand weights on either side. He will literally throw himself onto the wheel, and it can slide a bit. I've replaced the padding once (started with leopard then got the light gray) and changed the wheels because I felt like it. I would not have this near a kitten, at all though, even with the wheel covers (which I highly recommend).

Cat Experience 1) I have a large, 3:00am zoomies gremlin that no longer uses me as a launching pad (for the most part). He has always had severe anxiety and gets pent up no matter how much playtime he gets during the day. I got the wheel for him, mainly. I…

    My cat loves it!

I knew in my guts my high energy cat would appreciate this wheel and I'm so glad she does!

I trained a couple of times with Churu but she took to it like a natural.

Assembly was fairly simple. My only critiques are that I frequently have to readjust the wheel to lessen the wobble that comes when the wheels touch/get close to the rails and the traction pads get really beat up my cat nails.

I would love if One Fast Cat would have more traction pads colors/styles.

    Worth every penny!

I bought mine used because I balked at the price of a new one. I waited a loooong time before I finally found one used. Now that I’ve had it for a couple of years and seen how the cats like it, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one new. It’s very well designed. The cats are very hard on it - running full out for minutes at a time. I’m sure a lesser product wouldn’t stand up but my One Fast Cat does !
